Hello movers and dancers!
Last month, we tried something different — a live music collaboration with Asheville Rhythm. I’m grateful to River Guerguerian, Chris Rosser, John Vorus, and the other Asheville Rhythm folks who came together to shape and share this experience; it was a joy to co-create with them.
Thank you, dancers, for showing up and supporting this experiment. It was good to move in shared space with everyone a little differently.
And thank you, Team AMC, for supporting this dance. Without your help, we wouldn’t have been able to make this happen as smoothly as it did.
Tell Us About Your Experience!
This dance was offered to enrich the AMC community and practice. As we move through 2016, we’ll be considering how to both maintain what we do well and continue this enrichment by offering different events.
I would appreciate hearing about your experience and any related thoughts you might have about whether to host this type of dance again.
Core Circle Community Member
Twice a year AMC’s Core Circle invites a dancer from the community to join the circle for four meetings. The Core Circle discusses the operational and organizational concerns that keep our dances occurring: leasing contracts, event sites, budgets, and guidelines. Following Dynamic Governance principles, we include members from our other circles, Team AMC and the AMC Board, as well as a dancer nominated by the Core Circle.
The Core Circle gathers to coordinate and support the ongoing mission of the Asheville Movement Collective and meets every six weeks on Wednesday evenings. The next four dates are scheduled for:
- May 4
- June 22
- August 3
- September 14
Please contact me at email@example.com, if you are interested in joining.
