SUMMARY:Interstellar Night
DESCRIPTION:Interstellar Night\nFacilitator: Micah Swabb \nMicah’s live dj set for this Friday night AMC dance will explore the theme of interstellar and inter-dimensional travel through the portal of dying\, and through the portal of distorted perceptions caused by fear\, doubt\, and rage. It will resolve itself into a space where surrender\, grief and courage can take root\, before taking flight. \nThe intention for this dance is inspired by the poem “Do not go gentle into the night.” It has been referenced in many Hollywood films\, perhaps most notably in the blockbuster movie “Interstellar.” It was written by Welsh poet Dylan Thomas in 1947 while he and his family witnessed the gradual passing of his father in Florence\, Italy. \nDo not go gentle into that good night\nBy Dylan Thomas \nDo not go gentle into that good night\,\nOld age should burn and rave at close of day;\nRage\, rage against the dying of the light. \nThough wise men at their end know dark is right\,\nBecause their words had forked no lightning they\nDo not go gentle into that good night. \nGood men\, the last wave by\, crying how bright\nTheir frail deeds might have danced in a green bay\,\nRage\, rage against the dying of the light. \nWild men who caught and sang the sun in flight\,\nAnd learn\, too late\, they grieved it on its way\,\nDo not go gentle into that good night. \nGrave men\, near death\, who see with blinding sight\nBlind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay\,\nRage\, rage against the dying of the light. \nAnd you\, my father\, there on the sad height\,\nCurse\, bless\, me now with your fierce tears\, I pray.\nDo not go gentle into that good night.\nRage\, rage against the dying of the light. \n  \nMicah Swabb (DJ Mikaya) is a facilitator at the Asheville Movement Collective and a member of their Consent Team. His mixes use a spectrum of musical genres to trigger cathartic release to deepen embodiment. He is a Regenerative Real Estate agent\, UX Designer\, Mobile DJ\, and DJ Instructor.
