SUMMARY:Full Circle
DESCRIPTION:Full Circle\nFriday\, January 5th\n\nFacilitator: Rory Jagdeo\n\nLife is a dance and we are all dancing all the time. Indeed\, we are born of movement. From early on in our lives\, movement expresses what we discover in the world. Dance is an incredibly powerful tool for introspection and deep self-exploration. When you dance\, you have the opportunity to experience the past\, the present\, and the future…sometimes all at once. Dance helps you track where you’ve been\, where you’re going\, and who you are becoming — to experience your life as a FULL CIRCLE! \nWhat have YOU experienced in the last year?? What have you let go of and what have you gained?? \nLet’s use this dance as an opportunity for deep reflection. Let’s use the music and the dance as a catalyst to free ourselves even more of things that no longer serve us for the journey ahead. This is a chance to celebrate and mourn and honor everything our bodies and our minds have experienced this past year. \nA chance to come FULL CIRCLE.

SUMMARY:Opinions
DESCRIPTION:Opinions\nFriday\, January 12th\n\nGuest DJ: Eduardo Arias\nSupporting Facilitator: Marta Martin\n  \nPoem: The Anatomy Of an Opinion\nIn the realm of thoughts\, where opinions hold sway\, Echoes of certainty\, in minds’ alleyways\, We build walls of belief\, so staunch and so stern\, Forgetting the lessons the world yearns to learn. \nOpinions\, like lenses\, tint our view\, Coloring the world in a singular hue\, We see not the rainbow\, but shades of our mind\, In the spectrum of thought\, we’re willingly blind. \nThe river of wisdom flows wide and deep\, But in shallow pools of ego\, we often sleep\, Confined by our views\, like fish in a jar\, Unaware of the ocean\, both near and far. \nThese strongholds of mind\, so rigid\, so tight\, Turn the day of understanding into night\, Where the stars of other perspectives are hidden\, In the dark sky of the ‘right’\, unbidden. \nLike birds in a cage\, our thoughts flutter and beat\, Against bars of conviction\, in relentless defeat\, The sky of possibility\, vast and unknown\, Remains unexplored\, unclaimed\, and alone. \nSo let us break free from these chains of ‘I know’\, To the fields of ‘perhaps’\, where new ideas grow\, For in the garden of open minds\, under the sun of doubt\, Blooms the flower of wisdom\, beautiful\, throughout.

SUMMARY:Welcome the Dragon
DESCRIPTION:Welcome The Dragon\nSunday\, January 21st\nFacilitator: Jeannie Adair\n\n\nAs we step into 2024\, we welcome the Chinese Zodiac Year of The Dragon. Guided by the wisdom of the Dragon archetype\, let’s delve into the depths of our collective psyche and embrace the transformative power of this mythical creature.\n \n\nAcross cultures and throughout history\, the Dragon has been revered as a symbol of strength\, wisdom\, and untamed power. From the fiery dragons of Western folklore to the celestial dragons of the East\, this archetype carries profound significance. In the realm of psychology\, Carl Jung recognized the Dragon as a powerful symbol of the unconscious. It represents the forces that lie dormant within us\, waiting to be awakened. Dancing with the \n\nLet’s evoke the Dragon within ourselves and within our community. Through movement\, we will tap into the primal energy\, courage\, and creativity that the Dragon embodies. SUMMARY:Quintessential Heart
DESCRIPTION:Quintessential Heart\nFriday\, January 26th\n\nFacilitator: Cat Hay w/ guest vocalist Lillie Lumina\n\nInvitation: “Dance\, dance here again with me my love\, do you not remember when the music easily made us swing and sway? Lighting our spirits and seducing us away from toils and sorrows forget this darkness and the heavy sounds of the machine. The rattling\, buzzing clamour of its electricity; displaced and dislocated mind\, dismembered soul return from sea. Come still your senses that have run away with hype and fallacy. Come back this moment\, please\, if you could only see just for a moment summon your whole spirit to be free. Let your mind go and dance with mystic\, childlike reverie. Allow your quintessential heart to feel this rhythmic melody and show me in your eyes that you are here… with me.” – Katie Kamara\nArt by @vibrantlifeart \n\nDance is at Warren Wilson College – Bryson Gym\n102 Upper College Rd\, Swannanoa\, NC 28778
