SUMMARY:Horns\, Drums\, and Drops
DESCRIPTION:Invitation:  Horns\, Drums\, and Drops \nFacilitator: Micah Swabb\nGuest Musicians: \nMax Ribner on the Flugelhorn\, trumpet\, and keys\nSteven Truluck on the djembe \nTo kick-off AMC restarting 2nd Friday Night dances\, Micah Swabb (dj Mikaya) will be mixing a live set with two live musicians: Max Ribner on the Flugelhorn\, trumpet and keys\, with local drummer Steven Truluck on the djembe. This 90 minute set will be high energy at the peak with an all live acoustic section. The overall structure of the dance will follow the classic “wave” progression. This set will be light on lyrics. \nMax Ribner Bio \nWhat are the common threads that bridge jazz\, soul\, and classical music with spiritual connection and community service? This is the question that drives international touring artist Max Ribner. The sound that answers is rich\, reverent\, and intimate\, connecting us through the lineage of music\, to the stories of our ancestors. In the past\, Max’s unique and fusion-inspired approach to Flugelhorn and trumpet has led him to perform with artists such as Esperanza Spalding\, Nahko And Medicine For The People\, Trevor Hall\, The Polish Ambassador\, Liv Warfield and many more. To listen to Max’s music visit: https://www.maxribner.com/. \nDJ Mikaya Bio \nMikaya has been deejaying and facilitating for AMC for the past four years. His sets can be found at https://soundcloud.com/mikayaswabb.

SUMMARY:Shake\, Rattle & Roll
DESCRIPTION:Invitation:Shake\, Rattle & Roll \nFacilitator: Micah Swabb \nMicah Swabb will tap into some genres of music that we don’t often hear at AMC and that inspire us to shake it out\, rattle the rafters\, and roll around on the floor in laughter. What better way to get any stuck winter energy moving as we welcome spring. This live mixed DJ set will follow a “wave” structure with a gradual build and soft landing. There will be a wide variety of beat structures to the music. Expect the unexpected with a flair for the theatrical. \nMicah (DJ Mikaya) Swabb will be playing a live dj mix. SUMMARY:Our Divine Feminine
DESCRIPTION:Invitation: Our Divine Feminine \nFacilitator: Marta Martín \nNo matter what pronouns we use to describe ourselves\, the divine feminine is an integral part of who we are. As we embrace the divine feminine\, we seek the balance that works for each of us. Can we soften the sharp bits and support the fragile parts that keep us from embracing all we are? As we move together\, can we celebrate the energy of the fertile and nurturing earth\, the moon energy\, the sensual feeling beneath our feet and the divinity in ourselves and others and seek the balance we crave? \nThe music for this wave seeks to honor female artists and musicians from all over the planet.

SUMMARY:Interstellar Night
DESCRIPTION:Interstellar Night\nFacilitator: Micah Swabb \nMicah’s live dj set for this Friday night AMC dance will explore the theme of interstellar and inter-dimensional travel through the portal of dying\, and through the portal of distorted perceptions caused by fear\, doubt\, and rage. It will resolve itself into a space where surrender\, grief and courage can take root\, before taking flight. \nThe intention for this dance is inspired by the poem “Do not go gentle into the night.” It has been referenced in many Hollywood films\, perhaps most notably in the blockbuster movie “Interstellar.” It was written by Welsh poet Dylan Thomas in 1947 while he and his family witnessed the gradual passing of his father in Florence\, Italy. \nDo not go gentle into that good night\nBy Dylan Thomas \nDo not go gentle into that good night\,\nOld age should burn and rave at close of day;\nRage\, rage against the dying of the light. \nThough wise men at their end know dark is right\,\nBecause their words had forked no lightning they\nDo not go gentle into that good night. \nGood men\, the last wave by\, crying how bright\nTheir frail deeds might have danced in a green bay\,\nRage\, rage against the dying of the light. \nWild men who caught and sang the sun in flight\,\nAnd learn\, too late\, they grieved it on its way\,\nDo not go gentle into that good night. \nGrave men\, near death\, who see with blinding sight\nBlind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay\,\nRage\, rage against the dying of the light. \nAnd you\, my father\, there on the sad height\,\nCurse\, bless\, me now with your fierce tears\, I pray.\nDo not go gentle into that good night.\nRage\, rage against the dying of the light. \n  \nMicah Swabb (DJ Mikaya) is a facilitator at the Asheville Movement Collective and a member of their Consent Team. His mixes use a spectrum of musical genres to trigger cathartic release to deepen embodiment. He is a Regenerative Real Estate agent\, UX Designer\, Mobile DJ\, and DJ Instructor. SUMMARY:Reset
DESCRIPTION:Reset\nFacilitator: Rory Jagdeo \nWe are constantly bombarded with changes and as we get older\, it becomes more and more intense and even harder to embrace. We are faced with our own physical and spiritual changes\, not to mention technological and economic changes forced upon us by the “System”. The breaking point can happen\, and thus we need a reset. \nWhy do we need a reset in life? It is an opportunity to heal\, to let go of the old and create the new. \nLet’s use this dance as a starting point to gather with a caring community – to feel safe and be your true authentic self. Laugh out loud\, dance with all your heart\, practice gratitude\, meditate in the flow\, take a break\, give yourself some tender loving care\, and sweat your prayers.
