DESCRIPTION:Special Event: InterDance ~ Connection in Motion\nA benefit for OurVoice\n\nWorkshop at 2:00 pm – Dance Wave at 4pm\nSuggested Donation $50: $25 for the workshop & $25 for the wave\nAMC is excited to announce InterDance – a workshop and wave focused specifically on interactive dancing (dancing directly together not just simultaneously in the same room\, but interacting and engaging with the other dancers directly). Participants are invited to attend both the workshop and the dance wave\, though  if you wish to attend only one of these offerings that is perfectly fine\, please note the appropriate arrival times in the schedule below. \nThe intention of the workshop is to help us find more ease and fluidity in dancing with others. We believe our body holds the intuitive wisdom we need to guide our choices in the dance and the workshop and wave will be opportunities to explore and practice that. \nThis workshop is not about working harder\, but rather relaxing softer\, in order to listen more deeply- first within our self\, and then with each other. The first half of the event will be co-facilitated by three of our own team members\, Cat\, Ran\, and Michael. It will support participants in practicing the skill of tuning in to their own bodily sensations and instinctual urges towards movement or stillness. There will also be plenty of opportunities to explore how we can engage with others in ways that feel safe\, appropriate\, playful and curious.  We will have the opportunity to experience ourselves as part of the collective by intentionally moving with each other. We will play with toggling back and forth between this kind of attention within and without\, ultimately aiming to cultivate a culture of embodied empowerment. DESCRIPTION:Invitation: Instrumental Restriction at\nWarren Wilson College Bryson Gym! \nI’ve often tried creating an ecstatic wave journey without any lyric heavy songs. It never ends up happening. I just love using songs with lyrics both in english and other languages too much. But for this mix I will restrict myself to only songs that have instrumentals\, or I will cut out any lyrics. I’m curious how it might land for our dance community and the creative direction it might take me on. \nI’m always trying to evolve and adapt my craft as a music weaver\, and an easy way to do that is to impose restrictions that force me into uncomfortable and uncharted territories. If you’d like to journey into such an exploration\, I invite you to come to this dance. \nThe invitation there for you as a dancer\, will be to explore the messages you find in music that is devoid of words.
