SUMMARY:Indulgence
DESCRIPTION:Indulgence\nFacilitator: Marta Martín \nThis is the time of year to delight in the brilliance of being human and indulge in the beauty of moving freely on this beautiful planet of ours.  It is the time to engage in a dance with all our 6 senses without judgement. Let’s notice how easy or difficult it is to drop everything and connect with our joy. Let’s celebrate being elated even if it’s only for a few moments.

SUMMARY:Special Event: Embodying the Mystic
DESCRIPTION:AMC Special Event Saturday!\nEmbodying the Mystic: Workshop and Dance Wave with Karavan Sarai\nGuest Musician: Karavan Sarai\nSupporting Facilitator: Cat Hay \nWorkshop 4 pm – 5 pm\nEmbodying the Mystic Workshop: Middle Eastern Mysticism meets Modern Day Music & Movement\n \nDance 5 pm – 7 pm\nKaravan Sarai Ecstatic Dance Electronic & Acoustic Set \nJoin AMC and special guest Narayan Sijan of Karavan Sarai for a special Saturday event! Let’s connect in music and movement to the mystical traditions of the Middle East. Karavan Sarai will be playing for the first time for AMC\, bringing both a workshop and dance wave. With music celebrated as “Middle Eastern to Indian Music meets lush electronics”\, this event will bring a unique offering to AMC that is meant to inspire flow and transcendence. The workshop will be assisted by Cat Hay and will include contextual and spiritual teachings from the mystic path and how this lives through sound and body as we practice embodiment exercises for whirling and flow. Following the workshop\, we will have an extended dance wave of live music with electronics and towards the end will move into acoustic\, all together creating an evening of eclectic fusion music. \nYou can check out more about Karavan Sarai at https://www.karavansaraimusic.com/. \nPlease arrive promptly at 4 to attend the workshop and by 5:15 for the opening circle. \nNo childcare is provided.  Children are welcome to attend. We ask parents to please take their child outside if they are needing to express themselves during quiet moments or are causing disruption to the container.

SUMMARY:Reset
DESCRIPTION:Reset\nFacilitator: Rory Jagdeo \nWe are constantly bombarded with changes and as we get older\, it becomes more and more intense and even harder to embrace. We are faced with our own physical and spiritual changes\, not to mention technological and economic changes forced upon us by the “System”. The breaking point can happen\, and thus we need a reset. \nWhy do we need a reset in life? It is an opportunity to heal\, to let go of the old and create the new. \nLet’s use this dance as a starting point to gather with a caring community – to feel safe and be your true authentic self. Laugh out loud\, dance with all your heart\, practice gratitude\, meditate in the flow\, take a break\, give yourself some tender loving care\, and sweat your prayers.

SUMMARY:The Boundless Heart
DESCRIPTION:The Boundless Heart\nGuest DJ: Jeannie Adair\nSupporting Facilitator: Marta Martín \n\nI’ve been reflecting on the nature of the heart as I prepare this mix. While discernment and boundaries are necessary to protect ourselves from harm\, I am filled with gratitude for one of the greatest gifts we have been given: the boundlessness of the heart and its limitless capacity to expand! Beyond the confines of our physicality and our emotions\, the heart extends far into the unseen realms\, and is part of the oneness of all things. \nOur animal bodies have  the remarkable ability to hold a vast range of emotions from profound joy\, deep sorrow\, fierce passion and gentle tenderness. Through the heart we can navigate the complexities of our inner landscape with grace and resilience\, and create profound shifts within ourselves and in the world around us. \nBeyond emotions\, the heart is a source of unconditional love that transcends boundaries\, cultures\, and differences. It has the capacity to radiate warmth and acceptance to all beings\, fostering connection\, understanding\, and unity. \nThe heart’s boundlessness is connection to the divine\, the portal through which we access our intuition\, higher wisdom\, and universal consciousness\, tapping into the collective energy of love and the oneness that permeates all existence. \nLet’s celebrate the boundless nature of the heart! In connecting with the rhythm of our beating hearts\, the music\, and our creative expression\, perhaps we will experience a sense of liberation\, of freedom\, and connection to ourselves\, to each other\, and to the infinite of our collective heart.

SUMMARY:Interstellar Night
DESCRIPTION:Interstellar Night\nFacilitator: Micah Swabb \nMicah’s live dj set for this Friday night AMC dance will explore the theme of interstellar and inter-dimensional travel through the portal of dying\, and through the portal of distorted perceptions caused by fear\, doubt\, and rage. It will resolve itself into a space where surrender\, grief and courage can take root\, before taking flight. \nThe intention for this dance is inspired by the poem “Do not go gentle into the night.” It has been referenced in many Hollywood films\, perhaps most notably in the blockbuster movie “Interstellar.” It was written by Welsh poet Dylan Thomas in 1947 while he and his family witnessed the gradual passing of his father in Florence\, Italy. \nDo not go gentle into that good night\nBy Dylan Thomas \nDo not go gentle into that good night\,\nOld age should burn and rave at close of day;\nRage\, rage against the dying of the light. \nThough wise men at their end know dark is right\,\nBecause their words had forked no lightning they\nDo not go gentle into that good night. \nGood men\, the last wave by\, crying how bright\nTheir frail deeds might have danced in a green bay\,\nRage\, rage against the dying of the light. \nWild men who caught and sang the sun in flight\,\nAnd learn\, too late\, they grieved it on its way\,\nDo not go gentle into that good night. \nGrave men\, near death\, who see with blinding sight\nBlind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay\,\nRage\, rage against the dying of the light. \nAnd you\, my father\, there on the sad height\,\nCurse\, bless\, me now with your fierce tears\, I pray.\nDo not go gentle into that good night.\nRage\, rage against the dying of the light. \n  \nMicah Swabb (DJ Mikaya) is a facilitator at the Asheville Movement Collective and a member of their Consent Team. His mixes use a spectrum of musical genres to trigger cathartic release to deepen embodiment. He is a Regenerative Real Estate agent\, UX Designer\, Mobile DJ\, and DJ Instructor. SUMMARY:Home
DESCRIPTION:Home\nFacilitator: Cat Hay \nHome is where the heart is\nNot to be cliche\nYet deep within these words\nIs a truth that points the way \nA way we all are walking\nThough different paths we take\nAs we collect belongings\nAnd memories take shape \nThe shape of which will guide us\nTo the longing of our heart\nFor each experience we have\nIs like a fire in our hearth \nAnd the more we tend that fire\nThe more we fan the flame\nOf our heart’s purest desires\nFrom the ash our home is made \nSeems to me we all seek a home\nTo firmly plant our roots\nTo feel a sense of belonging\nFrom which we branch and fruit \nIt is said a basic need\nIs a roof over our heads\nAnd certainly its true\nWe need shelter and a bed \nIn my experience though\,\nThere’s more to it than that\nFor you can have a “house”\nAnd yet basic needs remain unmet \nFor until we know our heart\nAnd the love by which it beats\nWe wander with vagrant souls\nCollecting pennies on the street \nThere is no shame in seeking\nIn feeling lost or alone\nIts part of the human experience\,\nAnd we’re all just walking each other home. \nKeep stoking the inner fire\nThe home within your heart\nGive to that which you love\nAnd know that this is where to start \nSo may you follow your bliss\nMay you dance the whole way there\nFor surely it leads you to Love\,\nWhere we’ll feast at the hearth of the eternal home we all share
