SUMMARY:The Awakening
DESCRIPTION:The Awakening\nSunday\, Februrary 08\, 2026\nFacilitator: Robert Kochka & Amanda Crowe \nRobert’s dance wave was cancelled last Sunday due to snow\, so Marta graciously gave up her Sunday so we could dance to Robert’s wave! \nWake up slowly\, wake up softly\,\nwake up from your winter slumber. Spring is waiting\, watching\, wishing\, she shines a light\, a little longer each day\,\nwilling for you to notice her. She spreads green growth amongst the branches\,\nshe stirs the seeds beneath the soil. One by one\, each seed begins to bravely blossom\,\neach in its own time. Slowly\, steadily – up and up towards the promise that the surface holds\,\nto feel the air\, the sun\, the light\, the rain. Colours emerge from dark clay waving in the Spring wind\,\ncalling to you\, singing\, wake up slowly\, wake up softly\, let Spring in- and feel her warmth –\nas she tenderly reveals change is here.\nThe light is coming.\nThe light is coming.\nSpring has come again. \nPoem by Abaigeal Warfield \nAndrey Soldatov

SUMMARY:Archetypal Play!
DESCRIPTION:Archtypal Play!\nFriday\, February 06\, 2026\nGuest DJ: DJ SeigeA | CJ O’Reilly\nSupporting Facilitator: Kris Hostikka \nThe Collective Unconcious is the waters of archetypes – of the many potentail manifestations of being. We flow through these manifestations as we act and be\, walking tightropes between the shadows.\nWhat Archetypes are you expressing? What Archetypes do you see around you?\nHow do you want to play within and with these archetypes? Is this expression balanced\, or shadowed?\nWhat is the experience and impact of this expression? \n“Real liberation comes not from glossing over or repressing painful states of feeling\, but only from experiencing them to the full.” \n“To the superficial observer\, it will appear like madness” \n– C.G. Jung \nImage generated with MidJourney

SUMMARY:CANCELLED - Into the Mystery
DESCRIPTION:Into the Mystery\nFriday\, January 30th\, 2026\nGuest DJ: Stacey Butcher\nSupporting Facilitator: Kristikka \nThis event is cancelled due to weather. \nWinter is a season of turning inward. As the outer world slows and quiets\, we’re invited to listen more closely—to sensation\, breath\, and the subtle rhythms moving within us. Through music and free movement\, we’ll explore the living intelligence inside our own skin—curiosity instead of answers\, presence instead of performance. Come dance with what’s unknown\, unfixed\, and waiting to be felt\, and let the mystery move you from the inside out.

SUMMARY:EMERGENCE
DESCRIPTION:EMERGENCE\nFriday\, January 23rd\, 2026\nGuest DJ: Karen Funshine\nSupporting Facilitator: Kris Hostikka \nAs we near the end of the year of the snake and shed our last layers\, what is it that you are envisioning emerging?\nAre there parts of you that have been lying dormant\, stifled or unexpressed? Is there an aspect of you ready to be liberated?\nPerhaps there’s a whole new avatar you’d like to try on. We can use the dance to experiment and play with new possibilities. Get curious.\nAs we continue to release\, we create space for new layers of our being to come forth and be expressed. Who will emerge on the other side?

SUMMARY:El Libro de La Selva
DESCRIPTION:El Libro de La Selva\nFriday\, January 16th\, 2026\nGuest DJ: DJ Fiddlehead | Clay Savely\nSupporting Facilitator: Kris Hostikka \nFiddlehead invites you to embark on a fresh new Quest into the magic and wonder of the beloved jungles of our hearts\, minds and bodies. As our beautiful deciduous rainforests of Appalachia lay cold and dormant beneath the surface and mycelium\, we remember the inner warmth of our heart space and the many cozy fires we tend as a powerful community. In this collective dance of unity and hope\, we honour all of the magical beings\, animals and plants around the world in all of the ecosystems that need our support. As we dance through this cascading wave of change\, we find joy and bliss in the challenges and hurdles of our life\, and send love to all those in need. We dance together to release\, renew and cleanse under the healing waterfalls of eternity and all of the sacred rainforests around El Mundo. Our life continues to be an open book\, and what we write next will determine the course of the future for the next seven generations. \nArtwork by Thomas Kinkade

SUMMARY:Dance Like a Child
DESCRIPTION:Dance Like a Child\nSunday\, January 4th\, 2025\nFacilitator: Ted Riskin \n“Babies don’t perform movement — they discover it.”\n— Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen \nFrom a recent NYTimes article: \nBabies and toddlers are un-self-conscious when they dance. They’re spontaneous\, present\, unconcerned with who’s watching them. This approach brings us back to our own intelligent bodies\, our own basic understanding of what it is to be alive. \nDo adults perform movement when they dance? They do. We do. We have no choice — we’ve done it before\, so each time we dance we’re re-enacting the remnants of every time we’ve danced previously. We try and fail and try again to catch the rhythm; we think about how we’re being perceived. But what a privilege it is to move\, even if it’s awkward\, to be embodied and expressing and trying to be responsive to a beat\, to be more subject and less object. \nSo much of our movement is just using our bodies like reliable vehicles to get ourselves from one place to another. Dancing is an act of remembering that\, once\, when we were small\, everything was new. Once\, we moved our bodies primarily in order to play\, express and discover. The more online we become\, the farther we drift from our earliest soundtrack\, the rhythm that’s in us before we’re born\, the basslike thump-thump of our mother’s heartbeat and the oontz-oontz of her circulating blood. \nYou can watch adults learning from a toddler here and here. \nParents: ask your little one if they would be willing to teach us all some moves during the first several minutes of the wave!

SUMMARY:Stories and Tea
DESCRIPTION:Stories and Tea\nFriday\, December 19th\, 2025\nGuest DJ: DJ SeigeA | CJ O’Reilly\nSupporting Facilitator: Kris Hostikka \nHave you ever heard a story and wondered: Is that true? \nWe all know about Santa… *spoiler alter* isn’t real ;P But what of the lessons of the Christmas spirit? \nPerhaps you tell yourself a story about yourself or another\, and find out later it’s not what you thought\, unlocking limiting perceptions and uncharted potential! \nIn the weavings of community\, stories are sometimes the latest hot goss. And who doesn’t like to hear the latest tea? These stories serve as important information about who we’re safe with\, but can also spin out of control. \nHow do we relate to stories and their tea in a healthy way? What stories do you want to doubt? What stories are important to take to heart? How do we decide?

SUMMARY:Let Go\, Come Closer
DESCRIPTION:Let Go\, Come Closer\nSunday\, December 14th\, 2025\nFacilitator: Sara Bensman \nThe origins of the seasons is understood through the tale of Persephone\, who spends her winters in the underworld with the dark god of that world\, Hades. In most tellings\, she is taken by him against her will\, but perhaps she chooses to be with this dark lover. \nPersephone’s mother\, Demeter\, the goddess of seeds\, growth and fertility\, decimated by the loss of her beloved daughter to the world of death\, arranges a solution in which Persephone is returned to her. But then\, in a surprising twist\, Persephone eats the pomegranate seeds from the underworld and this act commits her to returning to Hades every winter. And thus begins the seasons. \nThis back and forth she does each year between the verdant world of creation and the dark world of death is what makes Persephone both complex and familiar. Don’t we all have to find the balance within us to survive the vicissitude of life? We are constantly in the throws of calling what we love closer and letting go of what no longer feeds us. This mix is an honoring of that tension between moving towards and releasing\, making room in our internal closet for the springtime by honoring the letting go of the winter. \nPhotograph by Laura Pashby

DESCRIPTION:Transitions\nFriday\, December 12th\, 2025\nGuest DJ: Stacey Butcher\nSupporting Facilitator: Kris Hostikka \nAs we stand between fall and winter\, nature reminds us how to shift\, release\, and reshape ourselves. This dance invites you into the fertile space between seasons—the place where what was is dissolving\, and what’s next is quietly forming. Together we’ll explore how our bodies breathe through change\, how we anchor ourselves in motion\, and how movement helps us melt resistance and welcome what’s emerging. Come dance the in-between.

DESCRIPTION:The Best Medicine\nSunday\, December 7th\, 2025\nFacilitator: Kris Hostikka | DJ Kristikka \nWhen we step into this sacred dance container\, movement becomes medicine for the soul. We all create this safe and nurturing space in order to feel all of who we are. Bring your joy\, your tenderness\, your wildness\, your truth. Through the rhythms\, movement and permission to surrender\, dance becomes a powerful healer where we can shake out stress\, open our hearts\, awaken creativity\, and deeply connect with our divine essence. \nTogether we journey meeting what arises\, shedding what’s ready to fall away\, and discovering new strength and clarity on the other side.
