Throughout history and across the globe\, people have responded to the turning inward by reacquainting themselves with death. Dia de los Muertos\, Samhain\, Allhallowtide\, and Halloween\, each express this impulse with its own distinct flavor. This Sunday\, we will dance our unique AMCollective fusion of the season’s death days and invite our loved ones that have crossed over to join us on the dance floor. Please feel free to bring photos or objects for our shared alter to honor and welcome your dead friends and family. \nAbout Sara Bensman: Sara’s mix-making arises from musical exploration. She seeks to understand energy through somatic responses to sonic vibrations. To dance is to pray\, to fully surrender E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G through the holy water pouring from our pores onto the wooden floors. It’s the only way I know. And it’s an ancient technology that has been around for as long as humanity. \nThis dance wave is meant to be a container to allow the frequencies of the full-spectrum of emotions come through and be felt and embodied. \nLook at it.
