SUMMARY:Shadow's Contrast
DESCRIPTION:Shadow’s Contrast\nFriday\, April 5th \nGuest DJ: Munodoc aka Juan Pablo Mendez-Barjau\nSupporting Facilitator: Cat Hay \nTonight we dance under the cosmic shadow of the upcoming eclipse. While the light may sometimes blind us\, we can let the rhythm of the music guide us…through the contrast of shadows\, revealing the deeper truths that lie beneath the surface. \nWith the rhythm of the stars as our guiding beat\,\nOn the celestial dance floor here we meet\,\nShades made cross the sky with luminous allure\nWhereas light can reveal\, it can also obscure\nLet the shadow illuminate what can’t be seen otherwise\nSee through the illusion\, the falsehood\, the lies\nEmbrace all the change\, let go of the past\,\nDancing in the shadow’s contrast\, our fates are cast. \nLet’s celebrate the beauty of change\, the magic of the universe\, and the clarity that comes from embracing both beat and breath in every step. In this sacred ceremony\, old ties we release\, welcoming new destinies with peace.

SUMMARY:Emptiness
DESCRIPTION:Emptiness\nFriday\, March 15th\n\nGuest DJ: Infinite-C (Courtney Towle)\nSupporting Facilitator: Cat Hay \nAs we dip into a waxing crescent moon and a sip away from an upcoming Spring Equinox\, I invite you to taste a lil emptiness… \nWe live in a world that constantly has us taking on information and demands quite a bit of our attention. Our mind\, our prana\, life force…. \nEven some of our spiritual practices can have us reflecting on what to let go of\, what our Hearts song dreams to manifest\, and so on so on… \nSo like a breath of fresh air before Spring kicks off…we have the opportunity to taste the fragrance of our Pure “Bee~ing” as the intention is set to let all intentions go for a moment. \nEven in manifesting we are taught the power of letting it go for it to come into fruition. And even when we want to break a pattern or shed an old skin… we have to reach a state of not activating the thoughts that pertain to that subject ~ Or begin to anyways… to lessen the pull\, the hold\, that any given object/subject has on our mind\, (life force). \nBy allowing a little “space”…. And creating an intention to be empty…to have a Gorgeous moment of not filling ourselves up we can experience a bliss and a kiss…get a feel for who we truly are… in this emptiness… when all the clothes we have covered ourselves with ~ in our mind ~ are let go of…. During a journey in the sound ~ our dance becomes the meditation…the retreat that takes us on a dive into Infinite Consciousness… \nSo I invite you to leave everything\, cling to nothing\, for a few moments. For the Pure Self has no expectations\, nothing to wait for\, nothing to gain\, nothing to lose\, nothing to become\, nothing to manipulate. \nAll that arises…all that comes and goes in life are like clouds…and though these things are experienced through you ~ you are infinite space…Pure awareness. \nAllow a little emptiness…stay as awareness only…see what happens… \nthis my Beloved friends…can water you in miraculous ways…🌱 and your entire being now resonating at such a vibration with some stillness in the mind ripples out to all our Brothers & Sisters and Momma Earth ~ welcome in the gift and opportunity to just be…empty. Pure awareness. Pure space…. \nYou are more than just a mere drop in this one ocean of a dance…you are the entire ocean…and We are One Song… \nHonored to witness and join you Beloveds in this deep dive as we cling to nothing yet experience our Oneness… we are Pure Consciousness in human form and I’m Grateful to have this invitation to experience us dancing in this Knowing as its fruits are sure to be showing\, glowing\, and a growing long after such a dance has commenced. \nLove Eternal\, \n🙏🏼♾️🌊💓 \nBio: MultiGenre DJ ~ My mixes usually occur in a sorta “wave” fashion with moments to breathe…dip into a journey…chill…build up to get down…throw down…and well…all the feels…no limits…Infinite~C is a multi genre dj using intention\, healing through sound ~ A path that started with a guitar and traveling with Elders from the East & the West leading Kirtan and Ecstatic dance lead to a mobile sonic temple where dark techno\, high energy raves vibes can meet tribal bass and trap with full permission 😉 Infinite~C gives each listener full permission to feel every single flavor of emotion and dance our Hearts IN dedicating the dance for Self~Empowerment & then as we move as ONE we lift up the Healing energy & send it out to Ignite a Light for our Mother Earth & the rest of the World. ❤️ \nLink to SoundCloud: https://on.soundcloud.com/wFfTSx7XUn9eiMmh6

SUMMARY:Dream Within a Dream (Spring Forward)
DESCRIPTION:Dream Within a Dream\nSunday\, March 10th\n\nFacilitator: Cat Hay\n\nTake this kiss upon the brow!\nAnd\, in parting from you now\,\nThus much let me avow-\nYou are not wrong\, who deem\nThat my days have been a dream;\nYet if hope has flown away\nIn a night\, or in a day\,\nIn a vision\, or in none\,\nIs it therefore the less gone?\nAll that we see or seem\nIs but a dream within a dream. \nI stand amid the roar\nOf a surf-tormented shore\,\nAnd I hold within my hand\nGrains of the golden sand-\nHow few! yet how they creep\nThrough my fingers to the deep\,\nWhile I weep- while I weep!\nO God! can I not grasp\nThem with a tighter clasp?\nO God! can I not save\nOne from the pitiless wave?\nIs all that we see or seem\nBut a dream within a dream? \n— Edgar Allan Poe

SUMMARY:Inspired Action
DESCRIPTION:Inspired Action\nSunday\, February 11th\n\n\nFacilitator: Cat Hay \n\nThere was once upon a time\,\nI didn’t know my reason or rhyme\nPeople would say “oh you are doing just fine”\nBut that wasn’t the landscape of my inner mind \nI needed more\, I needed to feel and see\nHow is it my existence came to be?\nAnd if I am here is there a purpose to me?\nIs my life fated? Or is my life free? \nI looked all around\, desperate to know\nI read ancient texts\, learned the art of flow\nI sought wisdom in the trees\, in the caw of the crow\nI cried out for the pains that occurred long ago \nFirst I cried for my own unacknowledged pains\nFear\, anger\, grief\, am I insane?\nAnd then the pain went beyond my own selfish domain\nTo the wounds of a world living in vain \nSomehow through all this\, I came to realize\nThat in order to be here\, in order to survive\nWhatever the cause of my being alive\nInspiration would wipe the tears from eyes \nI noticed there were times when I felt a spark inside\nUpon seeing something so creatively divine\nOr reveling in the synchronicity of a series of signs\nAnd in the way a small act of kindness could change the course of one’s life \nI tended those sparks and followed their lead\nI let go of the things that felt wrong for me\nI gave up looking for a destination to be\nI followed my bliss\, trusting this as the key \nIt’s a conscious effort\, yet what else can we do?\nBut follow those sparks\, so bright & so true\nTending the seeds of our heart’s inspiration\nTrusting this to give will in taking right action \nThis more than anything has been my guiding star\nWhen everything else in the world seems dark\nI tune into these little sparks near and dear to my heart\nMay divinely inspired action bless our dance and our art \nCat will be djing a live set accompanied by live instrumentation by the incredible Kevin Spears. Check out his many musical accolades and accomplishments on his website at www.kevinspears.com \nSpears masterfully utilizes human ingenuity and technology to weave horns\, bass\, violins\, synths\, drums and world percussion – creating an instant one-man folk-world-funk band that will leave you spellbound and dancing all the same! \nCat and Kevin are excited to be collaborating to bring to AMC a unique one of a kind ecstatic dance experience ✨ Please plan to donate a little extra in support of our gifted musical guest! \nYou can hear more of Cats mixes at https://on.soundcloud.com/QQtbgGf5zFd9tcgS7

SUMMARY:Quintessential Heart
DESCRIPTION:Quintessential Heart\nFriday\, January 26th\n\nFacilitator: Cat Hay w/ guest vocalist Lillie Lumina\n\nInvitation: “Dance\, dance here again with me my love\, do you not remember when the music easily made us swing and sway? Lighting our spirits and seducing us away from toils and sorrows forget this darkness and the heavy sounds of the machine. The rattling\, buzzing clamour of its electricity; displaced and dislocated mind\, dismembered soul return from sea. Come still your senses that have run away with hype and fallacy. Come back this moment\, please\, if you could only see just for a moment summon your whole spirit to be free. Let your mind go and dance with mystic\, childlike reverie. Allow your quintessential heart to feel this rhythmic melody and show me in your eyes that you are here… with me.” – Katie Kamara\nArt by @vibrantlifeart \n\nDance is at Warren Wilson College – Bryson Gym\n102 Upper College Rd\, Swannanoa\, NC 28778

SUMMARY:In the End
DESCRIPTION:In the End\nSunday\, December 31st\nFacilitator: Cat Hay \n“Everything will be okay in the end. If it’s not okay\, it’s not the end.” – John Lennon \nMy invitation is to take this dance\, this moment\, to gaze into the horizons of the new year\, to reflect on the lessons of this last one\, to find the folly in time’s illusions\, and to drop deeper in that which transcends all time…for what is a beginning\, if not an ending? What is an ending\, if not a beginning? \nMay we dance in celebration of that place where beginning and endings know no separation\, where it is all one in the same…I think this is what John Lennon really meant when he said everything will be okay in the end. SUMMARY:Honesty
DESCRIPTION:Honesty\nFriday\, November 10th\nGuest DJ: Hunter the Gatherer\nSupporting Facilitator: Cat Hay\n\n\nOn the dance floor I get to be confronted with all the different parts of me. The ones that want connection\, want to belong\, want to be alone\, etc. For this dance\, I want to invite the concept of honesty and maybe a more radical version than what already exists. What does full honesty look like? How does it feel? How does it move? Can you bring your honesty to the practice and dance with it? \n \nBio: Hunter the Gatherer is dedicated to the search for eclectic global sounds\, compiling them together\, and creating a journey of prayer for the dancer. As a dancer and being versed in 5 Rhythms I intentionally curate journeys from that perspective. A way for the body to express all the different parts and for the emotions to be felt and alchemized. I bring my love of different sounds and my range of different electronic textures and genres to create a colorful landscape to journey through. Any time I play for others it is a deep honor and I use it as an offering to our temples so that we can express our prayers and move stuck energy that no longer serves us. I play for those who came before and will come after me. Creating my dream by playing music for others. 🙂\n\nLink to mixes: https://soundcloud.com/hunter-ball

SUMMARY:Embrace Your Weird
DESCRIPTION:Embrace Your Weird\nFriday\, August 11th \nGuest DJ: Jeannie Adair\nSupporting Facilitator:Cat Hay \n\n\nOriginally coming from the Germanic language\, the word weird was spelled “wyrd” in Old English\, and signified destiny and fate\, intricately woven together by unseen forces. I invite you to pay homage to this ancient wisdom. In this dance\, we will honor the weirdness that lies within each of us—our uniqueness\, our quirkiness\, and our unconventional magic that sets us apart. We recognize that our individual wyrd is a thread woven into the larger fabric of existence\, creating a beautiful and harmonious dance of diverse souls.\n\n\nIn this space of acceptance and celebration\, we acknowledge that our wyrd is not something to be hidden or suppressed\, but a treasure to be cherished and explored. It is through our weirdness that we find our authentic selves\, liberated from the expectations of conformity.\n\n\n\nSo let’s welcome our ecstatic weirdness with open arms\, moving fearlessly\, knowing that we are an essential part of the grand cosmic dance!  Let us weave our unique wyrd into a vibrant tapestry of love\, joy\, and freedom to create a collective energy that reverberates from the dance floor out into the world.\n\n\n\n\n\nLeontine (Jeannie Adair) is on the AMC facilitator pathway and loves sharing her passion for mixmaking and dance medicine. You can find her mixes at: https://soundcloud.com/dancingleontine.\n\n\nPut your body in motion and the psyche will heal itself.\n— Gabrielle Roth

DESCRIPTION:Boundaries & Walls\nFacilitator: Cat Hay \nBoundaries are not the same thing as walls.\n~\nBoundaries come from an open heart\, and those who have them understand that to truly be open one has to manage their energy\, and does so by setting healthy boundaries.\n~\nWalls come from a closed heart. They are the result of boundaries being crossed.\n~\nHonor your boundaries. Break down your walls. \nYou can find more of Cat’s mixes at https://on.soundcloud.com/kLJjJnRa2oVxhkcR8
