Or is my life free? \nI looked all around\, desperate to know\nI read ancient texts\, learned the art of flow\nI sought wisdom in the trees\, in the caw of the crow\nI cried out for the pains that occurred long ago \nFirst I cried for my own unacknowledged pains\nFear\, anger\, grief\, am I insane?\nAnd then the pain went beyond my own selfish domain\nTo the wounds of a world living in vain \nSomehow through all this\, I came to realize\nThat in order to be here\, in order to survive\nWhatever the cause of my being alive\nInspiration would wipe the tears from eyes \nI noticed there were times when I felt a spark inside\nUpon seeing something so creatively divine\nOr reveling in the synchronicity of a series of signs\nAnd in the way a small act of kindness could change the course of one’s life \nI tended those sparks and followed their lead\nI let go of the things that felt wrong for me\nI gave up looking for a destination to be\nI followed my bliss\, trusting this as the key  \nIt’s a conscious effort\, yet what else can we do?\nBut follow those sparks\, so bright & so true\nTending the seeds of our heart’s inspiration\nTrusting this to give will in taking right action  \nThis more than anything has been my guiding star\nWhen everything else in the world seems dark\nI tune into these little sparks near and dear to my heart\nMay divinely inspired action bless our dance and our art \nCat will be djing a live set accompanied by live instrumentation by the incredible Kevin Spears. The ones that want connection\, want to belong\, want to be alone\, etc. For this dance\, I want to invite the concept of honesty and maybe a more radical version than what already exists. What does full honesty look like? How does it feel? How does it move? Can you bring your honesty to the practice and dance with it? \n \nBio: Hunter the Gatherer is dedicated to the search for eclectic global sounds\, compiling them together\, and creating a journey of prayer for the dancer. As a dancer and being versed in 5 Rhythms I intentionally curate journeys from that perspective. A way for the body to express all the different parts and for the emotions to be felt and alchemized. I bring my love of different sounds and my range of different electronic textures and genres to create a colorful landscape to journey through. Any time I play for others it is a deep honor and I use it as an offering to our temples so that we can express our prayers and move stuck energy that no longer serves us. I play for those who came before and will come after me. Creating my dream by playing music for others. 🙂\n\nLink to mixes: https://soundcloud.com/hunter-ball

Let’s connect in music and movement to the mystical traditions of the Middle East. Karavan Sarai will be playing for the first time for AMC\, bringing both a workshop and dance wave. With music celebrated as “Middle Eastern to Indian Music meets lush electronics”\, this event will bring a unique offering to AMC that is meant to inspire flow and transcendence. The workshop will be assisted by Cat Hay and will include contextual and spiritual teachings from the mystic path and how this lives through sound and body as we practice embodiment exercises for whirling and flow.
