SUMMARY:The Power of No
DESCRIPTION:The Power of No\nFacilitator: Ted Riskin \nIf there is only one option on the table\, then it doesn’t feel like a choice.  If we’re not comfortable with our ‘NO’\, then our ‘YES’ is not given freely. How many messages have we received telling us that ‘NO’ is not OK?  Let’s reclaim and enjoy the Power of No. \nYou can hear some of Ted’s mixes at https://www.mixcloud.com/tarisk/.

SUMMARY:We Are All Mothers
DESCRIPTION:We Are All Mothers\nFacilitator: Ted Riskin \nPerhaps nothing requires more sacrifice and commitment than mothering\, and one day per year is hardly enough to celebrate and honor that.  However\, for our dance today\, let’s focus on the mothering that we all provide for our own parts that feel young\, scared\, lonely\, confused\, lost\, empty\, or hopeless. \nYou can hear some of Ted’s mixes at https://www.mixcloud.com/tarisk/.

SUMMARY:10 Things I Learned from My Cat
DESCRIPTION:Invitation: 10 Things I Learned from My Cat \n\nIt’s OK to communicate my wants and needs.\nWhen bad things happen\, like being accidentally locked in the garage\, I don’t need to freak out or grumble. I can just make the best of things\, perhaps looking for interesting animals\, until someone opens the door.\nWhen a part of me says my cat loves me and another part says she’s just using me for food and chin scratches\, I get to choose which one to believe.\nWorrying about what people think of me is optional.\nWorrying about the future is optional.\nThinking is optional.\nEating something that dropped on the ground won’t kill me.\nI can catch up on sleep during the day if I want.\nI don’t need to be ashamed about bodily functions.\nAlways keep breathing.\nIt’s OK if I don’t know how to count to 10.\n\nMany of these lessons can be practiced on the dance floor. \nYou can hear some of Ted’s mixes at https://www.mixcloud.com/tarisk/.

SUMMARY:The Power of Music
DESCRIPTION:Invitation: The Power of Music \nI think music\, out of all that we can do\, at least artistically\, is the great indicator that something else is going on\, something unexplained\, because it allows us to experience genuine moments of transcendence.\n— Nick Cave \nIn an early version of the myth of Eurydice\, she is the wife of Orpheus\, a master musician. Upon being bitten by a viper\, she dies and descends into the Underworld. Orpheus is grief-stricken but finds a way to go there\, and by playing his music and singing so beautifully\, he softens the hearts of the rulers of Hades\, and is allowed to take her back to the land of the living. \nHow do you experience the power of music? \nYou can hear some of Ted’s mixes at https://www.mixcloud.com/tarisk/. \n
