Connected

It seems like these days that all we’re getting is a quick “fix” –- nothing more. We are not connecting. We are not totally engaged in the moment. We are always in a hurry and ready to move on rather than linger for a while and get a sense of connection with our surroundings and ourselves. We are preoccupied with the ‘lists’ and ‘tasks’ in our lives. We are not beholding nature, friends, families, and relationships. The list goes on and on.

This means we are not engaged. To be engaged means we are connected physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Being engaged means feeling and experiencing, rather than just knowing about it.

If we look at what is going on in our world today, there is so much chaos and so much suffering experienced by so many. Nations rising against each other – the human connection is lost. The value of human lives are not valued and that is sad when you think of us all being created or designed in the image of the divine plan.

How can we get back on track? Is it by connecting on the basic human needs? A gentle touch, our laughter, a smile, a dance…

This dance tonight is one way of establishing a real connection in this modern society where you can touch the earth or floor with your bare feet and be in the presence of an accepting inviting community. This dance practice helps you express deep emotions and drop in and feel more engaged.
