Aside from donating to our 501c3 nonprofit, getting involved in other ways supports the roots of our community led organization! That means AMC is run by the dancers, for the dancers!

Volunteering is a great entry point, whether it’s volunteering at dances, or if you have other services or support to offer – feel free to reach out!

AMC is a nonprofit with a volunteer board of directors. The board of directors helps guide the nonprofit’s big picture, and oversee compliance and integrity of operations. This includes the Treasurer, Secretary and President of the board, as well as other board members.

As a community run organization, AMC values the voice of the dancer. There are guest dancers roles in key decision making bodies in AMC like the Core Circle. Get in touch if you’re interested in being a guest dancer on a decision making circle in AMC.

Show Up & Spread the Word

Also, showing up for the practice, and sharing with people who you think would find value in this practice is a wonderful way to support our vision and community, whether that’s through word of mouth (which is often most potent), sharing events on social media (Facebook and Instagram, Meetup.com – you can also screenshot the post and send a text!), or just forwarding the newsletter or upcoming events.

Getting more deeply involved by participating as a Guest Dancer in our organizational governance, being a Room Coordinator, joining the Facilitator Pathway (to make mixes and hold space), or helping with administrative work like Media Coordinating, Social Media Publishing, etc.

AMC has various job openings from Volunteer Coordinator and Media Publishers to Bookeeping and other administrative roles. AMC pays a living wage!
