Auxiliary Facilitator: Conway Weary
A blessing on the knots that were tied into you, and that you learnt to tie into yourself, until you were woven into a net that could catch approval and diplomas and lovers.
A blessing on your toil that yielded worldly riches when you were cast into the great ocean of suffering and returned laden with jewels and trinkets and heartbreak.
A blessing on the seaweed that clogged your mesh and dragged you down and snagged you on rocks and anchors.
A blessing on the tide that stranded you on this shore, discarding you like debris, rendering your knotted self useless.
A blessing on the knots that were tied into you, and that you tied into yourself. May each one loosen now. Though it once held you together and made you strong, it binds you where you no longer need to be bound.
Something greater holds you now. May this knot loosen, and this, and this.
A blessing on your unravelling that feels a little like insanity. You’re not going mad. May the sun warm the places that were tied so tight it felt like suffocating. And now that it is safe, to soften, to loosen, to breathe, fill your lungs with the oxygen of freedom. Exhale. May your soul be released from the bondage of survival, and unlaced, relax into unboundedness. And bask in the blessing of letting go.

Facilitator Notes
Conway remembers the moment. Her first grade teacher, Mrs. Dean, lined up the girls, put Tchaikovsky on the record player and said, “Pretend you are a flower”. That ecstatic meeting of music, movement and imagination was a moment that set a life direction. The Dancer’s Path is where the outside meets the inside, the healer meets the wound, and body and soul play passionately with the edges of life. Listen to her mixes at: www.mixcloud.com/conwayweary/
