I had a dream four years ago, one January morning. In the dream, I could see stark, barren trees without any leaves all around me as I hovered, looking down. Then, a particular tree stump caught my eye. I drifted down closer in the dream, closer, then closer still. The rest of the dream became distilled in these words:
“Every time you are high above in the dark:
Keep dropping down.
Get to the bones and roots of it all.
Keep going.
You’ll find what you need in the soil.”
This dance is an invitation to lean in and drop down into your bones, into your roots, and listen–listen for the sound that is your true song. Dance THIS.

Lanie McKeever is a visionary empath, mystic artist, music weaver, and lover of enchantment, currently residing in Asheville, NC. Finding ecstatic dance in 2014, she has been moving and ‘moved’ by the healing power of voices, rhythms, and music ever since. Lanie has been with AMC since 2021.
