Imagine yourself experiencing music for the very first time. Your body naturally reacts to the rhythms, spontaneously engaged with beat and melody. Before the concepts of dance, grace, or acceptable moves exist in your mind, before the imprints of cultural norms take root in your cells, your body simply played in the field of music.
This is an invitation to release all you think and feel and know about dancing and come explore the floor with the innocence of a toddler. Allow yourself to take a break from patterns of movement you’ve cultivated throughout your life, to experiment with new ways of responding to music and community and to re-set your nervous system with your organic expressions.
Facilitator Notes
Sara’s mix-making arises from musical exploration. She seeks to understand energy through somatic responses to sonic vibrations. Her facilitation is propelled by a desire to help build and sustain community by creating a safe, loving container for self-expression, connection and release.
