“There’s no place like home,” said Judy Garland as Dorothy in the 1939 classic film, The Wizard of Oz, as she clicked her heels and hoped for the return to the comforts of her own bed and her beloved Auntie Em and Uncle Henry.
There are times when we go travelling for a vacation, on a business trip, visiting loved ones or friends and then, after a while, we begin to lose our peace, our harmony, our simple comforts and then start having an insane desire to come home.
Many times during share-back at dance, I hear from people who have moved, visited, or have returned to our community. They have felt that being at the dance was like coming home. That is the beautiful thing about this experience here — you can connect with a caring dance community where you can feel safe and not judged. Here, in the stillness of your heart, you can bask in the familiar, delicious delight and exquisite sensation that you are truly home!
