We’re all united in our humanity
felt in the heart,
but not always what’s seen…
Can we give it up, all our reasons and rhymes
It’s just two sides anyways
of the same damn coin.
Gay or straight
Christian or Jew
Duality wars meant to confuse
But it’s really quite simple
Don’t get caught in the trap
Beyond the illusion, is Love, and we ALL simply that.
It’s time to get real
And live the truth of who we are
One in the same, in a world still at war.
Should the barrel of a gun look us in the eye
How will we reason
Time spent in denial.
We can’t pretend our pain away
Trust me, I’ve tried
It doesn’t work that way.
So please listen
When we say
Love is the only way.
And it begins
By going within
Healing the wounds that cause division.
And when we do this inside job
The outer world
Will start to solve.
So while we grieve through life’s tragedies
Be love,
It’s the remedy.
