Our culture of rugged individualism shames us for whining or feeling sorry for ourselves. But isn’t what we call “whining” just parts of us that need to be witnessed in our pain and sadness? Why should we deny that, especially when many of us have recently suffered losses? Let’s provide that necessary compassionate witnessing on Sunday.
