Showing Up For a Practice, Feb 9th at Evergreen

Sunday, February 9th
Facilitator: CJ O’Reilly

Showing up for a Practice

A practice is something that is done regularly. It’s not every time it’s easy. It’s not every time it’s transcendent. The value isn’t in the one time, it’s in the practice.

What is this practice to you?

“I started to look at [improvisational dance] as an underlying technique, as an intelligence that my mind and body could rely on.” – Nancy Stark smith

“Whatever forms of meditation you practice, the most important point is to apply mindfulness continuously, and make a sustained effort. It is unrealistic to expect results from meditation within a short period of time. What is required is continuous sustained effort.” – Dalai Lama
“If you want to find God, hang out in the space between your thoughts.” – Alan Cohen
“Meditation practice isn’t about trying to throw ourselves away and become something better, it’s about befriending who we are.” – Ani Pema Chodron
