BOARD CIRCLE

Aim:

To advise and support AMC as a sustainable nonprofit organization acting in accordance with the public trust while ensuring consistency with its registered Articles of Incorporation, bylaws and overall VMA; and to manifest AMC’s vision by connecting with greater community, and inspiring new ideas and direction in collaboration with the Core Circle.

Circle Membership:

Open to members nominated by and elected by the Board Circle or serving in a Core-elected position. The Board Circle maintains at least a 51% financially disinterested membership. Meetings are as needed, generally once per quarter. Terms are re-evaluated on an as-needed basis. Unlike other circles, the Board Circle elects its own functional leader. Executive officers also serve on the Board Circle for the duration of their term.

CORE CIRCLE

Aim:

To manage operations through guiding, evaluating and supporting the working circles. To serve as the final authority regarding operations and policy, reflecting the Vision, Mission and Values of AMC.

Circle Membership:

Open to members serving in elected positions who are responsible for managing primary operations; representatives from other circles; and guest members appointed from the community. Guest members currently serve a five-meeting term. Meetings are held on an as needed basis. To be on Core, one must be serving in a Core-elected position, elected as a representative from another circle, or appointed as a guest member from the community.

All position terms are re-evaluated as needed. Unlike other circles, the Core Circle elects its own functional leader. Elected positions whose responsibilities include service on the Core Circle are: executive director, executive secretary, executive treasurer, events coordinator, and volunteer coordinator.

TEAM AMC

Aim:

To provide a forum for event facilitators, room coordinators, executive officers, and other invited participants to develop AMC services, coordinate event operations, support event facilitators and room coordinators, and cultivate staff working relationships.

Circle Membership:

Open to dancers who have been invited by Team AMC, who have completed the Room Coordinator pathway, who have begun the facilitator pathway or have received consent to become an event facilitator, or who have been elected to a coordinator or officer position.

Meetings and position terms are held and re-evaluated as needed.

CONSENT TEAM

Aim:

The consent team is meant to help create a safer, more empowered dance space through working on various initiatives that raise awareness and educate about consent.

Circle Membership:

Open to all members of Core, TeamAMC, and Board as well as dancers who have been invited by Consent Team members or who have expressed interest and ability in communication and consent. Meetings and position terms are held and re-evaluated as needed.
