2024 was a year of transformation for AMC. With our workload now shared among dedicated individuals, we’re growing in exciting ways—both internally and externally.
We’re thrilled to announce:

Consent & Community
Our Consent Circle, led by Sara Bensman and Ran Johnson, is expanding! New members are joining, and we’re excited to offer informative videos and workshops in 2025. Consent education will continue to be a key focus for our community this year.
Welcoming New Board Members
We’re grateful to have Elizabeth Graves and Mountaine Jonas join our board, bringing fresh energy and wisdom to AMC.
Dancing Through Challenges
Despite the transition after Helene, our community thrived. Our dancers stepped up, offering free park dances, which were deeply appreciated and well-attended, thanks to Josiah Greenewald, Billy Merrit, and Hunter Ball. We offer our deep gratitude to a generous donor that enabled AMC to support these events and ensure organizers were compensated.
We also held an Eco-Grief Dance at Lake Eden to benefit BeLoved Asheville, facilitated by our Sara Bensman, supporting local individuals displaced by the storm. Together, we raised $1,000 to help a family find a home.
Looking Ahead: Celebrating 25 Years!
We started 2025 with extreme cold, forcing us to cancel our first two weekends—but we’re back, stronger than ever! This year marks AMC’s 25th birthday, and we’re celebrating with a weekend of dance, live music, and community connection Feb 28-March 2.
