Dear Dancers,

Over these past weeks, our dance community, along with the wider WNC region, has faced tremendous loss, despair, and trauma in the wake of Hurricane Helene. Yet, through this darkness, we have witnessed profound moments of support, resilience, and the incredible strength of our collective spirit.

Asheville Movement Collective’s staff and dancers have moved through this grief together, finding solace and healing in the rhythm of our shared hearts. We extend our deepest gratitude to all of the dancers, DJs, and organizers who have made the Sunday park dances possible. A special thanks to Josiah, Hunter, and Billy from Startribe for leading these dances which have been a beacon of hope and connection for many.

We are delighted to announce that the gym at Evergreen Community Charter School will once again be available to AMC starting Friday, November 1st.

Until then, you are invited to gather at Highland Park in Montford for Sunday dances through the end of October, where AMC will continue to support other dance leaders for movement, healing, and togetherness.

Thank you for your continued support, love, and presence during this time. We look forward to dancing with you soon—see you on the dance floor!

Dancing, singing, storytelling and silence are the four universal healing salves.
