On this day one year ago, our lives were forever changed. We gather to dance in conscious awareness—for those who lost everything, for those who are no longer here to dance with us, and for the tender places within ourselves still healing after Helene. Anniversaries hold memory, but also the power of transformation, and so we move as prayer, as offering, as medicine. With each breath and movement, we weave love through our bodies and into our community, sending ripples of healing across Asheville and the mountain areas still recovering from the storm. Together, may we rise rooted, whole, and connected in celebrating the human spirit and precious life.
Facilitator Notes
Kristikka discovered 5Rhythms in Los Angeles in the 90s but it wasn’t until she landed in Austin that this practice took hold of her in a big way. Now, after decades of dancing, she’s stepping into facilitating this sacred practice by training with the ecstatic dance OG O’skar Madera and mentoring with DJ Esme.
