Each day for the past six months, the sun has been appearing higher in the sky, but on the day of this dance, that movement stops before switching directions. “Sun stands still” leads to the Latin word, “solstice.”
We will experience 14 hours and 34 minutes of daylight, compared to 9 hours and 47 minutes on the winter solstice. What would you like to do with your extra 5 hours?
