A storm blows through and just as it shifts the ground beneath our feet and knocks down trees, it also stirs up the grief and trauma that has been living in our bodies and overpowers our normal defenses. Dance has always brought us back to our bodies when we feel uprooted or vulnerable. Research now shows that bilateral movements, shaking and stretching can release trauma, but as a species, we have always known this instinctively. This dance is an opportunity to find whatever continues to cling to your spine, fascia or heart and to offer it up to the rhythms and movement.
